Job Description
The Medical-Surgical Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. The LPN delivers safe, high-quality nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical unit, assisting with treatment plans, administering medications, and supporting patients in recovery from illness or surgery.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor, record, and report changes in patients’ conditions.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

Assist with diagnostic tests, pre- and post-operative care, and wound care.

Perform basic nursing procedures such as catheterizations and vital sign monitoring.

Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated patient care.

Educate patients and their families on health maintenance and post-discharge care.

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic health records (EHR).

Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
Qualifications:

Current and valid LPN license in the state of practice.

Graduate of an accredited LPN program.

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS may be preferred.

Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical-surgical or acute care setting preferred.

Strong clinical skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
Work Environment:

Hospital facility which requires working weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.

Standing, walking, lifting, and exposure to infectious materials may be required.
Salary:

$25.94 - $32.39/hour

Shift Differentials: $5.10/hr 3-11pm; $6.30 11pm-7am; $1.20 weekend

$1,500 sign-on bonus
Shifts:
Day - 7am-7:30pm
Night - 7p-7a
With rotating weekends
