Production Lead- Laminated Parts

Location: Lake in the Hills, IL

Schedule: Monday - Friday 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Compensation: $17.00-$19.00 /hr plus $2.50 shift differential

AFC is seeking a skilled Production Lead to join our team in our Laminated Parts department. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily production, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, workflow efficiency, quality standards, and employee development.

Responsibilities:

• Verify production priorities and support production needs.
• Assess sheeting requirements and ensure correct layups are made to meet current production demands.
• Communicate production status and possible changes during shift transitions.
• Ensure proper machine usage, troubleshoot issues on the production floor, and maintain equipment.
• Perform regular checks on press operations, ensuring molds are secure and meet specifications.
• Oversee and manage machine changeovers and communicate any production disruptions.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Ensure all team members use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain safety standards.
• Report accidents or near-misses and ensure proper documentation is completed.
• Guide and coach team members to maintain high production standards.
• Ensure continuous improvement in workflow, quality, and team performance.
• Address disciplinary issues and work with leadership to manage personnel matters.
• Record and maintain production logs and enter data into relevant systems.
• Send updates on workflow progress or disruptions to leadership.
• Assist with daily production needs, including quality inspections and other tasks as required.
• Consistently model company values and culture.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring:

• High school diploma or GED
• Two or more years related experience and/or training
• Experience with press machines, sheeters and die cutter a plus.
