Summary:
Crispin Valve, a trusted manufacturer of high-performance valves for the water and wastewater industries, is seeking a dependable and skilled Valve Assembler to join our production team. This role focuses on assembling large-diameter butterfly, gate, and check valves (24” and larger) to AWWA standards, with occasional work on smaller valves as needed.
Responsibilities:
· Assemble large industrial valves (24” to 72”+) for municipal and waterworks projects.
· Follow mechanical drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and detailed work instructions.
· Install valve components such as discs, shafts, bearings, seals, and gearing mechanisms.
· Conduct hydrostatic and air pressure testing to AWWA standards (C504, C509, C508, etc.).
· Use precision tools to verify torque, fitment, and component alignment.
· Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other rigging equipment to safely move heavy parts.
· Complete quality documentation and collaborate with QC and engineering on any nonconformances.
· Occasionally assist in the assembly of smaller valve lines including air release valves.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in line with company procedures.
· Any other jobs assigned
Preferred Experience:
· 2+ years of mechanical assembly experience (valve, pump, or industrial equipment preferred).
· Ability to read mechanical drawings and use measurement tools (torque wrenches, calipers, indicators).
· Comfort working with large parts and using lifting/rigging equipment (forklift/crane certification a plus).
· High school diploma or GED required; trade/technical school is a plus.
· Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand or kneel for extended periods.
