UPCI Research Lab-Li - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (26002623)
To explore how Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is regulated by host restriction factors, specifically ASB family proteins. EBV, widely known for causing infectious mononucleosis (also called "mono" or the "kissing disease"), is also a major contributor to nasopharyngeal carcinoma (a type of head and neck cancer), gastric cancer, and various lymphomas. The Postdoctoral Associate will investigate the molecular mechanisms by which ASB13 regulates the EBV reactivation. The work will include cell culture, biochemical characterization, EBV life cycle models, and any other assignments that the principal investigator may request.
