Position Summary

The Security Officer plays a critical role in protecting people, property, and assets while delivering exceptional customer service. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment through proactive patrol, monitoring, incident response, and professional interaction with clients, employees, and visitors. Security Officers serve as the front-line representatives of the company and are expected to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and reliability at all times.

Responsibilities

Security Operations

• Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to ensure safety and security

• Monitor premises, surveillance systems, and access points

• Control access by verifying credentials, badges, and visitor authorization

• Identify and respond to suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security breaches

• Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and incidents

Customer Service

• Provide professional, courteous, and helpful assistance to employees, visitors, and clients

• Serve as a visible security presence to deter potential threats

• Maintain a calm, professional demeanor in all situations

• Represent the company’s values and commitment to service excellence

Reporting & Documentation

• Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident reports

• Document security events, violations, and unusual occurrences

• Communicate incidents and concerns promptly to supervisors and leadership

• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Compliance & Professional Standards

• Follow all company policies, procedures, and post orders

• Adhere to client-specific requirements and security protocols

• Maintain required licenses and certifications

• Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and professionalism

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Must be at least 21 years of age

• Ability to obtain and maintain required security licenses

• Must successfully complete a background investigation and drug screening

• Must complete the Georgia Board of Private Investigator 24-hour Security Training Course (provided by SecurNation)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure

• Reliable attendance and dependable transportation

Preferred:

• Prior experience in security, military, law enforcement, or customer service

• CPR, First Aid, or AED certification

• Experience with access control systems and surveillance equipment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

• Ability to patrol large indoor and outdoor areas

• Ability to observe and respond quickly to changing conditions

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds if required
