The salary range for this position is $55,000-$60,000.

This is a full-time in-office role M-F 7:00 am to 4:00 pm with an hour lunch. Candidates living farther than 40 miles or 1 1/2 hours from the office will not be considered for the position.

In this role, you won't just be "crunching numbers"—you’ll be a vital part of our operational workflow. We handle a high volume of accounts payable and move at the speed of the construction industry. You will leverage AI-enabled tools to streamline data entry, manage project-specific costs, and ensure our financial engine runs smoothly.

Primary Responsibilities

1. High-Volume AP & AI Oversight

• Invoice Management: Review and process high volumes of invoices within our AI-enabled accounting system and route them for proper approval.
• Data Integrity: Verify the accuracy of AI-generated project cost codes to ensure job costing is precise for every roofing project.

2. Receivables & Troubleshooting

• Cash Application: Post electronic cash receipts transactions promptly.
• Issue Resolution: Research discrepancies in payments and collaborate with internal departments (Project Management, Service Department) to resolve issues.

3. Construction-Specific Support

• Project Billing: Assist with the preparation and submission of construction billings (AIA or progress billing).
• Compliance & Prequalification: Manage the "onboarding" process for new business by completing prequalification packages for General Contractors and potential customers.
• Labor Tracking: Reconcile construction crew hours between our payroll platform and internal trackers to ensure labor costs are captured accurately.

4. General Accounting & Administration

• Month-End Close: Assist the Staff Accountant and Controller with month-end activities, including bank reconciliations and key account reconciliations.
• Communication: Handle a low volume of incoming calls via our digital phone platform and redirect them to the appropriate team members.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in accounting, ideally within the construction, roofing, or trade industries.
• Tech-Forward: Comfortable working with AI-enabled software and modern ERP systems. High proficiency in Excel is a must.
• Detail Obsessed: You catch the cost-coding errors that others miss.
• Resilience: Ability to maintain accuracy and a positive attitude in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with project managers and external vendors.
