Job Title: SAMPLES SUPERVISOR

Job Summary:

The Samples Supervisor oversees the preparation, production, and distribution of tile samples to ensure they meet quality standards and are delivered to customers, sales teams, and showrooms on time. This role involves managing the team responsible for sample preparation, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the samples represent the company’s product lines accurately and professionally. The supervisor plays a critical role in supporting sales and marketing efforts through efficient sample operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Supervision and Coordination:

• Lead and manage the team responsible for sample preparation and distribution.
• Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure productivity and accuracy goals are met.
• Train and mentor staff on sample preparation techniques and quality standards.

2. Sample Preparation and Quality Control:

• Oversee the cutting, packaging, and labeling of tile samples to ensure they meet quality specifications.
• Inspect samples to confirm accuracy in size, color, and finish before shipment.
• Work closely with the quality control team to address and resolve any sample-related issues.

3. Inventory Management:

• Maintain accurate records of sample inventory, including tiles, packaging materials, and mounting supplies.
• Coordinate with production and procurement teams to replenish sample materials as needed.
• Monitor sample usage trends to anticipate future inventory needs.

4. Process Optimization:

• Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of sample preparation and distribution processes.
• Implement best practices and workflows to reduce waste and enhance productivity.
• Utilize technology, such as inventory management software, to streamline operations.

5. Collaboration with Internal Teams:

• Work closely with sales and marketing teams to prioritize sample orders for key clients, trade shows, and new product launches.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure availability of tiles for sample preparation.
• Provide feedback to design and marketing teams on sample trends and customer preferences.

6. Reporting and Documentation:

• Maintain detailed records of sample orders, production timelines, and delivery statuses.
• Provide regular updates to management on sample operations, inventory levels, and team performance.
• Track customer feedback on samples and recommend improvements.

7. Shipping and Logistics:

• Ensure timely and accurate shipment of samples to clients, showrooms, and events.
• Coordinate with logistics providers to manage shipping schedules and costs.
• Address and resolve any shipping delays or issues promptly.

Required Qualifications:

• Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree in business, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in sample preparation, warehouse operations, or production supervision, preferably in the tile or building materials industry.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is required.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with ERP or inventory management systems is a plus.
