About Us
Rapid Response EMS is a leading provider of emergency medical services across South and Central Florida. We take pride in maintaining a reliable, high-performance ambulance fleet to ensure the safety of our patients and crews. We are currently seeking an ASE-Certified Fleet Mechanic for an entry-level position. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong mechanical skills who are eager to gain hands-on experience in emergency vehicle maintenance while working under expert supervision.
Responsibilities
As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our ambulances and support vehicles to keep them in peak operating condition. Your duties will include:
Performing routine maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues.
Replacing worn or damaged parts to ensure vehicle reliability.
Ensuring all vehicles are properly equipped with necessary safety gear.
Keeping detailed records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
Collaborating with fleet management to identify and prevent potential issues.
Adhering to all safety regulations and best practices.
Staying up to date with the latest vehicle technologies and maintenance techniques.
Qualifications
Required:
ASE Certification
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Basic mechanical skills and a strong willingness to learn
Problem-solving ability and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
Certificate or diploma in automotive technology or a related field
Experience with diesel engines and emergency vehicle maintenance
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards
