About This Position
This position is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and responsible for licensing accounting and managing the daily processing of chargeback claims as they relate to customer and special monies deductions.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preparing all royalty information for the license agreements and reports on a monthly basis
- Responsible for compiling and analyzing financial information for the preparation of journal entries that document business transactions
- Responsible for preparing and maintaining licensing reconciliation schedules for general ledger accounts
- Responsible for ensuring that all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Responsible for managing the Defacto Sales Forecasting model including creating monthly sales models
- Responsible for brand sales projections/forecasting by retailer and product
- Responsible for Sales Budgeting and Planning
- Responsible for assisting in financial planning and forecasting expenses
- Responsible for assisting in cashflow forecasting
- Responsible for extracting and manipulating information, usually via Microsoft Excel, from our two systems to use for informational purposes
- Responsible for ensuring that financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
- Responsible for resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities as needed
- Responsible for reviewing business contracts
- Responsible for ensuring accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; or a minimum of five years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong leadership and facilitation skills, dedication to client service, effective project management and proven ability to think strategically
- Minimum of one year of previous experience in a similar position
- Working knowledge and experience with related computer applications
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) as well as experience with pivot tables
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management
- Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports
- Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information
- Strong communication skills (both written and oral) in order to effectively communicate and report information to all levels of the Company
- Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented and have the ability to perform the job under a moderate to high level of stress
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to prioritize work and answer questions related to work assignments
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
