About This Position
About Hansa:
At Hansa, we're focused on helping small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) access the financial services they need to thrive. Our mission is simple: reshape the way that SMBs get credit for their past borrowing behavior, and move the ecosystem towards a future in which transparency drives better outcomes for all.
The vast majority of credit extended to businesses in the U.S. goes unreported to any credit bureaus. This includes everything from trade credit to business loans to business credit cards. As a result, SMBs can't leverage their past borrowing histories when applying for financial services from new providers. This siloing of financial behavior has many consequences for SMBs:
At the same time, not reporting to credit bureaus removes a layer of third-party accountability for the SMBs, and lenders consequently have less leverage to incentivize on-time repayment. And even though reporting business credit to a bureau reduces the likelihood of serious delinquency by 22%, very little is being reported!
Why? Because maintaining the infrastructure to report to the business credit bureaus is expensive, complex, and antiquated. Hansa is solving this for the multi-trillion-dollar B2B credit market.
We are funded by an incredible group of tier-1 VCs, giving us the backing to execute our vision at scale.
This is a remote-first role. Hansa has a great office in Midtown Manhattan, and we would love, and encourage, you to work from the office as much as you’d like. We do quarterly team gatherings in our NYC office.

As a result, SMBs can't leverage their past borrowing histories when applying for financial services from new providers. This siloing of financial behavior has many consequences for SMBs:
- Makes it harder for them to get approved in a timely manner for financial products
- Locks them into one institution that houses all their past histories
- Eliminates their ability to leverage their repayment histories to shop for fair and competitive rates
- Forces lenders to over-price rates for new clients due to poor visibility
