About the work

We are currently looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape the future of design at ShiftKey by using the design thinking process to solve complex problems that meet user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. You will be the first designer to join ShiftKey in Poland and will work closely with our Design Team in Austin.

The Senior Product Designer is responsible for the creation and execution of creative design deliverables. They regularly collaborate with stakeholders, engineering teams, product management, and other designers to understand project requirements and timelines, and in the creation of hi-res user interface screens and assets. Senior designers can effectively articulate how their design solutions answer user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. This role specifies navigation, framework, and basic page and screen design through sketches, wireframes, maps, and interaction flows. Your ability to think outside the box, push the limits, and elevate our digital products will be celebrated!
What you'll do...
  • Collaborate with the design team to maintain the integrity of all design assets across ShiftKey platforms
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless hand off, integration, and implementation
  • Carry out various UX research activities and create research artifacts (i.e. heuristic evaluation, competitive analysis, stakeholder interviews, etc. as needed)
  • Participate in team brainstorming sessions and help establish product priorities
  • Hold holistic creative goals in mind when designing
  • Be given the freedom to explore creative solutions and constantly innovate
  • Be expected to take ownership of your design solutions and defend your decisions when needed
  • Ensure the quality of your deliverables are in line with methodology, best practice, trends, and company standards
  • Define and evolve comprehensive UI design specifications
  • Be expected to deliver solutions on time for internal reviews


Who you are...
  • You're a Senior Product Designer who has worked on the entire software lifecycle and has experience bringing products from concept to launch
  • You're familiar with UX research and analysis and have crossover strengths in visual design
  • You're passionate about creating a good user experience
  • Your portfolio has examples of your interaction design skills and the impact your work has had on the business
  • You have experience designing for native apps (iOS and Android) and responsive desktop applications
  • You're confident in your design skills and open to feedback and direction
  • You can take ownership of a project and be self-sufficient
  • You're adaptable and can adjust when needed
  • Viewing situations from others' point of view is second nature for you


Minimum requirements for the job...
  • A design portfolio detailing your skills, experience, and impact
  • Professional experience as a Senior Product Designer, or similar role, working on digital products (preferably 5+ years)
  • A proven track record of solving complex problems for digital environments
  • A proven track record of designing for mobile platforms and responsive web experiences
  • A strong understanding of the UX design process, methods, and rationale
  • General understanding of user research techniques and their value in the design process (survey creation, script writing, user interviews and analysis, user personas, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable about UX/UI design best practices, trends and techniques
  • Must be familiar with Apple HIG and Google Material Guidelines
  • Knowledgeable about the software development lifecycle
  • Expert experience with Figma and other industry standard tools
  • Must have a positive attitude, be proactive, and helpful
  • Must be a creative problem solver
  • Must have strong active listening skills
  • Must have solid organizational skills and great attention to detail
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
