OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
- In general, this position is highly energetic requiring significant multi-tasking and exceptional communication skills across all aspects of the business. The Assembly & Test Technician II will be engaged with input on the design, manufacture, assembly and test of our products.
- The Test & Assembly Technician II will be responsible for the following:
- Create and follow the step-by-step assembly and test instructions required to complete specific tasks
- This may include outside research, working cooperatively with the engineering and design staff and/or working cooperatively with government agencies and customers/suppliers to obtain adequate technical data to perform specific tasks
- All workflows and processes need to support product completion. This must be documented as well as encompass best industry practices and support our AS9100 certification
TRAINING
The ideal candidate will receive direction, training, certification/recertification as well as the tools and equipment needed for him/her to successfully complete their functions in assembling this product.
GENERAL
The ideal candidate should have:
- Specific knowledge and experience in aerospace hardware and aircraft repair environments
- Have specific knowledge and experience in aerospace hardware and aircraft repair environments
- Have crisp focus and excellent multi-disciplined communications skills
OTHER SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Work cooperatively providing support to engineering, sales, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers
- Support the test equipment needs for each product application
- The candidate must be hands on and willing to work all aspects of the operation in a shop environment
- All other duties as assigned by manager
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
- Assembly experience of 5+ years minimum
- Detail oriented with exceptional problem solving and organizational skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills by example and mentoring others.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and methods
- The ability to read drawings and a thorough understanding of multi-level BOM’s
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) (ANSI Y14.5M)
- Extremely hands on and able to use standard aerospace shop equipment i.e. oscilloscopes, meters, test stands, inspection equipment and typical hand tools
- Capable of heli-coil insertion
- Commitment to process improvement and detailed procedural compliance
- Understanding of FOD and ESD compliance and issues
- Understanding of the principles of lean and 5 S in a shop environment.
- Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills
- U.S. Citizen, no dual citizenship allowed
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Aerospace Experience
- Knowledge of aerospace traceable configuration management techniques and hardware control requirements
- Knowledge of certification/qualification testing per DO-160 or MIL-STD-810
- Detailed understanding of the requirements of AS9100.
- Certification for soldering space applications electronic hardware to IPC J-STD-001E standards.
- FAA A&P License
- FAA repair station experience
- Capable of lock-wiring to MS standards
- Capable of applying strain relief techniques including lacing cord

- The office environment is considered normal. Temperature and noise levels in the plant may require use of personal protective equipment
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to talk, hear, and use hands to type on keyboard. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- An associate must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
