About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY
As part of a collaborative, dynamic, multidisciplinary team, the Float Pool RN will provide nursing care to a wide variety of patients within the hospital. The Float Pool RN will be a member of a nursing team that provides direct patient care to a specific unit within the hospital based on staffing needs. The Float Pool RN may be required to start their shift in one unit and, based on need/change in census and acuity, may be transferred or moved to a different unit to meet organizational requirements. The Float Pool RN will maintain competencies in all areas as assigned by department leadership. Utilizing the nursing process, the Float RN provides safe, effective, and compassionate care with a focus on restoring and promoting patient health and well-being and partners with patients, families, and the care team in the planning and coordination of care. The Float Pool RN must have the ability to perform standard nursing duties across various hospital units, encompassing care within the Medical-Surgical Unit, the Progressive Care Unit, the Emergency Department, and Post-Partum care in the Birthing Center.
QUALIFICATION

- EDUCATION:

- Graduate of an accredited RN program.

- EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS:
-
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in acute care.
- Critical care experience preferred.

- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S):

- Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Vermont
- BLS Healthcare Provider status
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- PALS within 6 months of hire
- NRP within 6 months of hire
