Location: Woodrow Wilson Keeble Memorial Health Care Center (WWKMHCC), Sisseton, South DakotaWork Hours:Weekdays: Typically 11:00 AM 8:00 PMWeekends: 1:00 PM 5:00 PM (4-hour shifts)4050 hours per week including some holidays
Position Summary:The Pediatrician will deliver high-quality outpatient care to children and adolescents at the WWKMHCC, supporting the Indian Health Services mission to provide comprehensive, culturally sensitive healthcare to American Indian and Alaska Native populations. The provider will be credentialed and privileged in accordance with IHS policy and will be expected to practice within a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model.
Key Responsibilities:-Diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric illnesses and conditions in an outpatient setting.-Provide anticipatory guidance, immunizations, and preventative care for infants, children, and adolescents.-See an average of 16 patients per day and document all visits in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).-Educate patients and caregivers on disease prevention, health maintenance, and child development.-Refer patients to specialists as needed and manage ongoing care plans in coordination with other providers.-Participate in committee work, peer reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.-Follow all WWKMHCC Medical Bylaws, IHS policies, HIPAA regulations, and CMS standards.-Maintain timely and accurate medical records; documentation is expected to be completed at least 95% on time.-Complete all required orientation, background checks, credentialing, and trainings prior to patient care.
Minimum Qualifications:-MD or DO with completion of a pediatric residency from an accredited institution.-Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics.-Active and unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state or territory.-Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (PALS preferred).-Minimum 2 years of pediatric clinical experience in the last 3 years.-Proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) usage.-Must pass Tier 2 background investigation under the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.-Demonstrated cultural competency in working with Native American communities.

$150 - $190 an hour
