OUTREACH SPEC at Forrest General Hospital – Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Business Development, the Outreach Specialist answers inquiry calls regarding Pine Grove’s treatment programs, gathers the necessary clinical information, and assists with the arrangement of services, or referrals and insurance information, while providing any needed follow up communcation. Completes all associated administrative and clerical tasks. Understands and adheres to the department’s documentation standards. Maintains an orderly work area and maintains confidentiality at all times. Also fulfills any other duties as assigned by the Director. Possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status. Interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to their specific needs, and provide the needed care. Adheres to the policies and procedures of the department; adheres to the expectation of professional boundaries and to all of the policies for Pine Grove and Forrest Health.

Qualifications:

Education/Skills

A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Marketing, Public Relations, or related health care related field is required.

Work Experience:

Two years of experience in a health care setting is preferred.

Mental Demands:

Must possess excellent verbal and written skills. The position requires being sensitive to the needs of others. Strong interpersonal skills are also needed. Frequent periods of concentration are required and attention to detail is needed. Must be capable of working autonomously. Must be capable of handling high pressure situations and have the ability to perform repetitive tasks, cooperate with others and demonstrate initiative.
