About This Position

Title: Chief Financial Officer

Base Salary Range: $220,942 - $257,644 plus benefits

FTE: Full-time, Exempt

General Summary: Plan, organize and direct the Financial Department including the development, interpretation, coordination and administration of South-Central Family Health Centers (SCFHC) policies and procedures on finance, accounting, insurance, financial/accounting systems, internal controls and auditing. This position helps ensure that finance and operational systems are in place to support the development of all business activities to meet targeted operating margins.

  • Develops and maintains the financial planning, budgeting, procurement, or investment activities of all or part of an organization accordance with state, federal, local and other funding sources rules and regulations utilizing generally accepted accounting principles
  • Develops internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting
  • Maintains current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards
  • Prepares reports outlining SCFHC position in all areas of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies
  • Analyzes the financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed
  • Advises management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions
  • Monitors financial activities and details, such as cash flow and reserve levels, to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Evaluates needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and make appropriate recommendations
  • Supervises all IT activities and IT personnel, including IT Consultants and Vendors
  • Coordinates timely filing of federal, state, third party and other financial reports as required.
  • Audits financial data for any system activity. Coordinates external systems audit with firm representatives
  • Maintains inventory of all agency property, equipment, computers and supplies Implements appropriate systems, monitoring various grants and cost centers

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BA Degree
  • Master's degree in business administration, accounting, or finance preferred
  • Knowledge of acceptable financial principals
  • Knowledge of database and accounting computer application systems to supply the most accurate financial information

Experience & Abilities:

  • Must have a minimum of 7 – 10 years’ experience in a senior - level position and 5 years in non-profit accounting and Federally Qualified Health Centers
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills
  • Report writing preferred
  • Highly organized and work effectively with other IT team members

Licensure and Certifications

  • C.P.A. designation preferred
