About This Position
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Radiology and the clinical direction of the Radiologist, the Per Diem Radiological Tech provides radiologic care to patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. The tech will perform all routine radiographic procedures and assist in fluoroscopy. Demonstrate anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning, image identification, technique selection, administration of contrast media, application of immobilization and radiation protection devices according to department policy and procedures. Receive and requisition, checking for special instructions from the requesting physician. Ensure appropriate clinical history on requisition. Consult with the radiologist as necessary. Pleasantly greet patients, confirming their identification and introducing themselves. Completely explain the examination procedure to the patient, and the patient's family if present. Using a standardized form, the Radiological Tech will routinely question the patient before contrast injection as to possible contraindications. Document all relevant information. Question female patients as to pregnancy status and document appropriately. May inject contrast media into patients under the direction of a radiologist, providing there has been demonstration of appropriate training and skills to the satisfaction of the department chair.
Qualifications: Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology. One year experience in a hospital setting preferred. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Registry eligible or obtained within 90 days of hire date, preferred; obtain registration within one year of hire date, required. New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy License – current New Graduate must be registered with the New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy, and obtain licensure within one year of graduation.
CPR certification must be acquired and maintained within three months of the employee hire date and maintained bi-annually.
Compensation
Minimum Pay: $30.70
Maximum Pay: $47.58
