About This Position

Description:

MicroCare, LLC is looking for an Accounting/Finance Intern to join our Finance this Summer, 2026. MicroCare, LLC is an ISO 9001:2015 registered company specializing in cleaning coating and lubricating fluids used in the installation and manufacture of a broad range of products in the electronics, medical, fiber optic and metal fabricating industries. We are headquartered in central Connecticut accessible from both Greater Hartford and New Haven. This is a part-time position, 20-24 hours per week depending on your academic schedule.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for assisting with the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, performing reconciliations, supporting MicroCare’s internal control function and special projects.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Accounts Payable function and workflows including entering invoices into the ERP system; mailing of checks; obtaining compliance support and performing vendor research when needed.
  2. Assist with complying and maintaining tax/audit documentation (W-9, etc.) and file retention.
  3. Support MicroCare’s Internal Control function. Partner with Accounting/Finance team to evaluate, contribute and make suggestions in areas assigned designed to strengthen, improve existing controls and/or processes. Maintain adequate audit trail of all work performed and reconcile information to underlying detail when needed. Provide Accounting and Finance back-up and capacity relief in areas assigned.
  4. Assist with Inventory Cycle Counts, if schedule permits.
  5. Participate in Special Projects as needed.
  6. Provide internship program feedback, summarize experience and present results to Accounting/Finance leadership.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2026-2027, Senior Undergraduate Accounting major with a GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Experience using Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint/Word/Outlook) desired with strong Excel proficiency required
  • Working academic knowledge and understanding of basic accounting /auditing and/or internal control concepts, principles and/or standards preferred (matching principle, cutoff, GAAP, IFRS, GAAS)
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and effective listening skills required
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, research and critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail

  • Prior Internship experience and familiarity with ERP systems a plus
