About This Position

Position Summary

Provides operational and consultative support to facility management at all levels on a daily basis. Advises management and employees on questions or concerns relating to human resources. Responsible for overall management of administration, coordination and evaluation of the facility’s HR policies, programs, and practices including recruitment, retention, training, employee relations, employee counseling and/or corrective action matters, compensation, benefits, payroll practices including time and attendance, and safety and health. Responsible for overall regulatory compliance of accredited agencies as well as legal compliance of local, state, and federal laws. Actively participates in achieving companywide goals and works in close collaboration with assigned Divisional Director of Human Resources.

Supervises the following positions: Human Resource Assistants and other positions designated by CEO

Position Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required.

Minimum three (3) years of previous human resources experience required. Current, valid, and active driver’s license required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Previous experience in healthcare preferred.

Knowledge of The Joint Commission, CARF, state and federal regulations relating to human resources preferred.

Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately. PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

Significant understanding of human resource laws, concepts, and applications associated with human resources.

Experience in employee relations and conflict resolution.

Refined negotiation, mediation, program design and implementation skills.

Ability to lead diverse teams to a common purpose and proactively seek new ideas and solutions to organizational challenges.

Exemplary customer service skills, communication skills, and interpersonal skills are absolutely imperative. Demonstrated positive personal influences on teams and customers including the willingness to accept change proactively.

Must be responsive to needs of organization and possess ability to balance the needs of multiple priorities. Ability to project a professional image.

Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements. Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.

Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.

Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions. Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Certificates, Licensures, Registrations

PHR or SPHR certification preferred. Current, valid, and active driver’s license required.

English is the primary language of the facility. Ability to read and write, communicate clearly with co-workers and customers and to respond to appropriate questions regarding work process or work product.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals as appropriate to the position.

Direct, plan, develop and implement recruitment efforts to ensure appropriate staffing in all areas of the facility. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition Team, managers and leaders in the interviewing, screening and hiring process. Facilitates prompt offers, including on the spot

offers for high demand positions.

Assess, plan, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the human resources function in accordance with local, state and federal law and regulations. Ensures compliance with accreditation standards specific to Human Resources functions. Collaborates with Staff Development to ensure competency standards are met. Implements human resources plans, policies and procedures, job descriptions, handbooks, salary administration and other programs/processes in compliance with corporate standards. Implement and tracks compliance. Works if close collaboration with assigned DDHR.

Facilitate employee benefit plans (new hire communication, open enrollment and status changes) and recognition programs designed for employee retention and satisfaction. Actively participates in obtaining companywide goals including turnover reduction and agency reduction. Partners with employee health to oversee and manage workers compensation and employee injury claims and administration.

Provide orientation, education, training and coaching to employees, managers and leaders regarding human resources and staff development issues. Promote continued learning and skill development of all teams and assist in ensuring applicable internal training programs meet the needs of employees to deliver exemplary care and service.
