Overview

Lutron is looking for a Sales Manager based in Gurgaon (Delhi NCR) to drive sales and business development for the Commercial business across the North region. This role is responsible for managing and growing existing business while developing and executing sales plans to deliver sustained yearonyear growth.

The position involves strong engagement with Government and public sector accounts, including organizations such as CPWD, PWD, NBCC, CPSEs/PSUs, infrastructure authorities (e.g., airports, metro projects), and governmentaided technical and educational institutions. The Sales Manager will work closely with government specialist contractors, commercial architects, electrical consultants, lighting designers, project management consultants, and channel partners to influence specifications and secure project opportunities.

In addition to government and specificationled business, the role provides exposure to and learning opportunities within private sector enterprise accounts to build broader commercial capability. This position is an individual contributor role, with no direct or indirect people management responsibilities at this time.



Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with Government Department Accounts like CPWD , NBCC, PWD, CPSEs including PSUs etc., Infrastructure accounts like AAI , Metro etc., Institutes likes IISER, IITs, COA (council of Architecture), Government specialist contractors
  • Build relationships and maintain regular contact with strategic commercial channel partners and specifiers (Commercial architects, Electrical consultants, Lighting designers, Project management consultants etc.) to become the preferred brand for government segment building requirements.
  • Plan, execute & achieve total sales targets as well as strategic product sales targets.
  • Execute, with guidance, business development plans with commercial business accounts to drive strategic product adoption across controls, shades and lighting, market development activities and Lutron product education for their team and project influencers.
  • Gather market intelligence that provides feedback and provide it to one’s supervisor to support the daily core business.
  • Educate, train, and conduct live demonstrations for accounts on Lutron’s existing & newest innovation and technology solutions to drive sales of strategic products.
  • Identify and develop new and existing customers and accounts to aggressively grow business year on year.
  • Start to work collaboratively with Design team, SSE and product leaders to identify and support local strategic sales opportunities. Coordinate with other departments to ensure the timely resolution of issues and effective implementation of solutions.
  • Able to conduct specification activities with customers to meet the account’s vision and design intent.Grow specifications pipeline year on year using SFDC tool.
  • Proactively shape the regional market environment, defend, and improve market position and depth of market access by developing strong, best-in-class, trust-based relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Create mid-term and long-term strategy in line with the corporate strategy to ensure sustainable business performance
  • Track key account performance metrics and generate reports for senior management.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum percentage of 60%
  • MBA is preferred
  • 12+ Years of Sales experience in Project Sales/Consultative solution sales, Business and Channel management with at least 4-5 years of experience working in govt sector

  • Enhanced research abilities to stay ahead of market trends and industry developments.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A willingness to travel up to 50% across Pan-India and the Indian Subcontinent, with a genuine passion for travel and meeting new people
