Position Summary

The Director of Supply Chain is a strategic leader responsible for designing, building, and optimizing Gifthealth’s end-to-end supply chain across procurement, inventory strategy, distribution, cold chain logistics, and network operations. This role owns the supply chain vision and execution, ensuring a scalable, resilient, and cost-effective infrastructure that supports rapid growth and exceptional patient outcomes.

This leader will operate as a key cross-functional partner to Operations, Pharmacy, Finance, and Executive Leadership—driving enterprise-level planning, supplier strategy, and network optimization while ensuring best-in-class compliance within a highly regulated healthcare environment. The Director will balance long-term strategy with hands-on execution, building the systems, partnerships, and team required to support a high-growth pharmacy and fulfillment network.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Strategy & Network Design

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with company growth, patient demand, and financial targets
  • Design and optimize the end-to-end supply chain network, including sourcing, warehousing, fulfillment, and last-mile distribution
  • Lead capacity planning and network scalability initiatives to support rapid volume growth and geographic expansion
  • Establish long-term roadmaps for automation, systems, and infrastructure investments

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Own sourcing strategy for pharmaceuticals, cold chain packaging, and critical supplies, ensuring continuity, cost efficiency, and quality
  • Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, including contract negotiation and performance management
  • Mitigate supply risk through diversification strategies, forecasting, and contingency planning
  • Partner with Finance to manage cost of goods, margin optimization, and budget forecasting

Inventory Planning & Demand Forecasting

  • Lead demand planning and inventory optimization strategies to balance availability, waste reduction, and working capital efficiency
  • Implement advanced forecasting models aligned with prescription volume, seasonality, and growth projections
  • Establish inventory policies, safety stock strategies, and replenishment frameworks across all sites

Cold Chain & Distribution Excellence

  • Own the strategy and execution of temperature-controlled logistics across the full distribution lifecycle
  • Drive innovation in cold chain packaging, shipping methods, and vendor partnerships to improve reliability and reduce cost
  • Ensure temperature integrity, compliance, and operational excellence across all distribution channels

Operational Execution & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner closely with warehouse and pharmacy operations to ensure seamless execution of supply chain strategies
  • Implement KPIs, dashboards, and analytics to measure performance across cost, service level, and quality metrics
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
  • Identify and deploy technology solutions (WMS, TMS, forecasting tools) to enhance scalability and visibility

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations, including DSCSA, FDA, DEA, USP standards, and state requirements
  • Partner with Quality and Compliance teams to maintain audit readiness and implement CAPA initiatives
  • Develop and maintain risk management frameworks for supply disruption, temperature excursions, and product integrity

Facilities & Infrastructure Partnership

  • Collaborate with Facilities and Engineering on site strategy, layout optimization, and expansion planning
  • Provide supply chain input into buildouts, automation investments, and workflow design

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing supply chain organization across planning, procurement, and logistics
  • Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and development pathways for team members
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
  • 10–15+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience, preferably within healthcare, pharmaceutical, or highly regulated environments
  • Proven experience building and scaling supply chain functions in high-growth organizations
  • Deep expertise in inventory planning, procurement strategy, and distribution network design
  • Strong knowledge of cold chain logistics and regulatory requirements (DSCSA, FDA, DEA, USP)
  • Demonstrated success influencing executive stakeholders and driving cross-functional alignment
  • Experience implementing supply chain systems and analytics tools

Work Environment
  • Location: On-site
  • Schedule: Full-time
  • May require additional availability during or flexibility for escalations.
  • Regular meetings with cross functional teams, departments, or leadership to ensure alignment.
Key Essential Functions
  • Must be able to operate at both a strategic and tactical level, shifting seamlessly between executive planning and operational execution
  • Must be able to analyze complex data sets and translate insights into actionable supply chain strategies
  • Must be able to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to oversee multi-site supply chain operations, including periodic onsite presence as needed
  • Must be able to respond to critical supply chain or distribution issues, including after-hours escalation when necessary
  • Must be able to travel to facilities, suppliers, and partners as required
