SUMMARY
The Facility Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe facility while supporting maintenance and production operations. This position plays a key role in organizing and inventorying parts, performing preventative and reactive maintenance, and assembling equipment or components for production use.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility, including production, maintenance, and common areas.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned, following established schedules and work orders.
- Complete reactive maintenance work orders and repairs in a timely and accurate manner.
- Calibrates and certifies critical equipment using established practices and procedures.
- Organize, label, and inventory maintenance and production parts; ensure proper storage and tracking of tools, supplies, and spare components.
- Assist in assembling and preparing equipment or components received for production.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment history in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Assist in identifying parts and materials needed for maintenance and repair tasks; communicate inventory needs or shortages to the Facility Supervisor.
- Operate and maintain power equipment and hand tools, including scrubbers, buffers, extractors, and other maintenance tools.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on facility upkeep, efficiency, and safety.
- Follow all company policies, safety standards, and environmental procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in maintenance, facility support, or inventory control preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn preventative maintenance procedures.
- Ability to use inventory systems or spreadsheets for tracking parts and materials.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of experience in a maintenance, custodial, or warehouse environment preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspond professionally.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions. Ability to troubleshoot problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with arms. Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching are required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, with rare lifting up to 55 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and maintenance environment. The employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes, dust, or outside weather conditions. The noise level is typically moderate. Proper PPE must be worn when required.
