About This Position

JOB TITLE: Quality Tech - TEMP

REPORTS TO: Quality Manager

PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION:

Assists the Quality Manager and quality engineers in planning, coordinating, executing, and directing quality control programs designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Helps develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of the finished product.
  • It helps formulate and maintain quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
  • May assist the Supplier Quality Engineer in supplier qualification and auditing.
  • Creates and implements inspection criteria and procedures.
  • Interprets quality control philosophy to key personnel in the organization.
  • Coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other Plant Managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Provides documentation for inspection activity for products throughout the production cycle.
  • Applies total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within each department.
  • Plays an active role in quality management teams within the organization.
  • Designs and implements quality control training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
  • Investigates customer complaints regarding quality
  • Assists the Quality Manager or Quality Engineer in resolving exception issues identified by production and inspection by verifying customer requirements and other needed documentation. Exception outcomes will be documented per company policy. This includes participation in the Material Review Board (MRB) in accordance with non-conforming product policy.
  • Other duties as prescribed by the Quality Manager

SKILLS /EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • 3+ years of experience preferred of related experience
  • ASQ Greenbelt or equivalent
  • ASME GD&T Technologist or equivalent preferred
  • Knowledge of practical application of statistical methods, SPC, Control Plans, and Problem-solving methods, such as 8-D and 5-Why.
  • CMM operation experience Preferred
  • A strong understanding of raw materials and the manufacturing industry
  • ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485 experience preferred
  • Competency in Microsoft Office tools and other computer applications
Requirements:

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Print Reading / Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with basic inspection hand tools (including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, height gauges with indicators)
  • Time Management
  • Must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal as well as interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Self-Starting able to coordinate maintaining of systems and to do lists while maintaining flexibility for the fast-paced environment. (project management skills)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have good hearing and sight.
  • You will need to be able to walk the shop floor and be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
