DMS Engineer

Summary

The DMS Engineer is responsible for the administration, maintenance, optimization, and support of the firm’s NetDocuments document management system. This role focuses on ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of NetDocuments services, including the execution and monitoring of Toolkit jobs, configuration management, integrations and lifecycle management. The engineer will also leverage Litera CAM to manage user provisioning, entitlements, and workspace governance. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, problem-solving capabilities and a commitment to delivering secure, efficient, user-focused solutions.



Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for NetDocuments, including configuration, integration, testing, debugging, and implementation.
  • Monitor all components of the NetDocuments environment for performance, availability, and stability.
  • Manage and maintain NetDocuments components such as ndOffice and ndMail.
  • Support integrations across Office, ndOffice, ndMail, workflow systems and other applications.
  • Oversee and execute NetDocuments Toolkit jobs.
  • Troubleshoot Toolkit job issues, optimize performance, validate logs, and coordinate remediation as necessary.
  • Monitor CAM logs and ensure successful synchronization with NetDocuments and other integrated systems.
  • Develop automation scripts and workflows to streamline DMS operations and reduce manual processes.
  • Assist with data migrations, metadata reconciliation, and legacy system decommissioning when applicable.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve DMS application issues.
  • Primary contact with NetDopcuments and other vendors as appropriate to resolve problems and define the Firm’s roadmap for document management.
  • Provide off-hours support for DMS Applications issues on a rotating basis. Be able to respond to calls within ½ hour and access the system within 1 hour.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. If an estimated salary range for this role is available, it will be provided in our Target Salary Range section. Target Salary Range
$150,000 – $175,000 if located in Illinois

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

  • A minimum of 7 years of direct engineering, implementation and administration experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in the Windows Server Environment
  • A minimum of 5 years of SQL Server experience.
  • Advanced Toolkit experience.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related filed.
  • Experience administering Litera CAM.
  • Advanced engineering, implementation and administration experience with NetDocuments.
