Staff Accountant at IDEAL READY MIX COMPANY, INC. – West Burlington, Iowa

Drive accuracy and accountability across our financial operations. Ideal Ready Mix is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support reconciliations, inventory, and reporting across multiple locations.

What You’ll Do

• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts (AR, inventory, royalties, hauling variances)
• Support month-end close and prepare journal entries
• Maintain and reconcile inventory records across multiple locations
• Complete GPS inventory reviews and partner with operations to resolve discrepancies
• Apply customer payments and monitor AR aging
• Assist with vendor setup, AP payments (check/ACH), and 1099 preparation
• Prepare sales tax filings and performance reports
• Support compliance, reporting, and special projects as needed

• 2+ years of accounting experience (construction, aggregates, or manufacturing preferred)
• Associate’s or Bachelors degree in Accounting/ Finance preferred
• Strong Excel and accounting systems experience (Acumatica a plus)
• Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
