Product Planning Manager at Rochester Electronics – Newburyport, Massachusetts

The Product Planning Manager initiates and develops forecast models that enhance the supply chain and optimize inventory management, thereby accelerating the time to revenue.

Responsibilities

• Product Planning Strategy & Implementation

o Define the long-term vision and strategic direction for Demand Planning; align forecasting and inventory initiatives with the company’s overall business objectives.

o Oversee the selection, implementation, optimization, and governance of Forecasting Models, Inventory Management, and Allocation Tools.

o Integrate demand planning processes with stakeholders, ensuring inventory supply meets customer need schedules.

• Product Planning Optimization & Management

o Oversee the creation and management of demand forecasts, from product lines to individual SKUs, by analyzing sales data, market trends, and other demand signals.

o Manage inventory levels to meet demand fluctuations while balancing backlog commitments and forecasting new and repeat demand opportunities.

o Collaborate and create actions and processes to prevent stockouts, long lead times, on-time delivery impacts, and excess inventory.

• Product Planning Analysis and Reporting

o Provide strategic direct buy inventory recommendations to senior leadership to accelerate forecasted revenue.

o Influence manufacturing build-to-stock schedules by releasing new manufacturing orders via quarterly analysis of backlog and customer procurement schedules.

o Evaluate and analyze the impact of market conditions on products, tracking metrics, and making data-driven adjustments as needed.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership

o Lead and facilitate consensus-demand meetings with sales, marketing, finance, manufacturing, and operations teams.

o Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecasting accuracy, supply chain efficiency, and overall performance through the development of global standards and best practices.

o Leading and mentoring a team of demand planning professionals as required.

Qualifications

• 7+ Years in Product Planning (Semiconductor Industry Preferred).

• Experience with product planning software, statistical tools, and integrated business systems.

• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Experience with data analysis and market research.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly when interacting with senior leadership.

• Proficiency in data management and analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau).

• Strong understanding of semiconductor product dynamics (if applicable).

• Proven leadership and team management experience.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., business, marketing, economics), MBA Preferred
