Summary:
The HR Administrator Intern is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day Human Resources operations while gaining exposure to core HR functions including recruiting coordination, onboarding, benefits administration, employee engagement, and compliance processes. This practical experience provides the intern with the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in Human Resources while contributing to initiatives that support employee experience, operational efficiency, and NAI’s overall business success.
Requirements:- Assist with daily HR administrative operations, supporting efficient and compliant workforce processes.
- Support recruiting and onboarding activities, including job postings, interview coordination, candidate communication, and new hire documentation.
- Prepare and track onboarding requirements such as background checks and drug screening documentation.
- Support benefits administration activities, including documentation follow-up during open enrollment periods.
- Assist in reconciling HR-related billing, including monthly benefits invoices and ensure data accuracy.
- Maintain and organize employee records and HR data, including spreadsheets and reporting tools.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and company-sponsored events.
- Assist with coordination of the internship program, including scheduling, communication, and event support.
- Support HR compliance and reporting efforts, including data tracking for initiatives such as Affirmative Action.
- Assist with training coordination and tracking of required employee trainings.
- Conduct research and support special HR projects focused on process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and organizational information.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proactive mindset with strong follow-up and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Exposure to HR functions such as recruiting, onboarding, benefits, or employee engagement through coursework or prior experience.
- Familiarity with HR systems (HRIS).
This is a Summer 2026 Internship starting May/June through August 2026. However, this position requires approximately 20 hours of availability for paid training on systems and processes before our Summer Internship program begins. Once the Summer internship begins, it will be a full-time schedule (40 hour week).
This is a paid internship. Internship salary is based on position and academic year standing.
