Location: This is a hybrid position located in Longmont, CO.
Base Compensation: $94,000 - $117,000 is the projected compensation range for this role depending on the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience.
Summary
The Credit & Collections Manager is responsible for managing the accounts receivable team, managing customer credit risk, ensuring timely collection of outstanding receivables, and driving effective collections processes within a manufacturing environment. The position partners closely with Sales, Operations, and Finance to support business growth and objectives while minimizing bad debt exposure. Position is a hybrid role located in Longmont, CO overseeing two companies, Stored Energy Systems and Phoenix Broadband Technologies.
Responsibilities
- Credit Management
- Evaluate and approve customer credit applications and set credit limits
- Develop and enforce credit policies and procedures
- Monitor customer creditworthiness and adjust limits as needed
- Analyze financial statements and credit reports
- Collections Oversight
- Manage and oversee collections activities to ensure timely payments
- Reduce delinquency rates and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
- Handle escalated collection issues and negotiate payment plans
- Coordinate with legal teams on collections or write-offs when necessary
- Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounts receivable team
- Set performance goals and monitor KPIs
- Conduct training on credit policies and collection techniques
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare aging reports, bad debt forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Track and report key metrics (aging trends, collection effectiveness)
- Identify risks and recommend improvements
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, Finance, and Customer Service teams
- Support dispute resolution and billing accuracy
- Balance risk management with customer satisfaction
- Process Improvement & Compliance
- Improve credit and collections processes and systems
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations
- Implement automation or tools to improve efficiency
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management.
- 5+ years of experience in credit, collections, or accounts receivable
- 3+ years in a leadership or management role
- Strong knowledge of credit analysis and financial statements
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Syteline, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
- Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Credit Executive (CCE) or similar certification
- Experience in manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of international credit and collections
