About This Position
The Department of Medicine, Division of Classical Hematology, is seeking a Visiting Scholar to conduct research in the lab of Dr. Julia Xu.
As a Visiting Scholar to serve as a member of the clinical-translational research group focused on sickle cell disease. Under direct mentorship, to contribute to ongoing observational studies and clinical trials in sickle cell disease, gaining experience in clinical study design, regulatory processes, patient enrollment, data management, and research translation. Also to learn novel red blood cell assays, optical techniques for assessing hemorheology and vascular function, and analytical methods relevant to translational hematology research. To participate in the collection, processing, and analysis of research specimens and clinical data, and will contribute to manuscript preparation, literature reviews, and research presentations at group meetings and scientific conferences. This appointment will advance development as an early-career physician-scientist by providing focused training in academic hematology research, while clinical background and prior clinical research experience will contribute meaningfully to the productivity and collaborative goals of the research group.
This is for a part-time 90 % effort, and time/effort allocation is 100 % Research. The Minimum Requirements , MD, PHD,- Specializing in Hematology / Oncology, they much demonstrate research experience spanning epidemiologic field studies, prospective cohort studies, and a randomized controlled trial evaluating AI-assisted clinical documentation.
