Summary

The Facility Janitor is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within our facility. The Facility Janitor will perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to uphold the organization's standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

• Monitors building and grounds to ensure a neat and clean presentation and environment in accordance with written and verbal instructions.
• Performs minor maintenance on facility to include changing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, remove plumbing clogs, painting and snow removal when required.
• Performs various cleaning and maintaining activities to include sweeping, mopping and/or buffing of floors and surfaces.
• Ensures all cleaning supplies are stored in appropriate areas.
• Empties production and shipping trash cans/containers/hoppers on a regular basis and/or as needed also disposes of trash in designated areas.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures.
• Complies with all safety and hazardous material procedures, wears protective equipment as required to meet or exceed OSHA and company requirements.

• Provides assistance to other departments or cross trains to fill in for co-workers in other areas, as needed.
• Identifies opportunities for improvements and submits in accordance with Continuous Improvement Program.

• Performs all other duties as assigned.

• Complies with the requirements of the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System (when required).

• Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend and kneel on a regular basis.
• Ability to work in a factory environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, heavy equipment and machinery.
• Able to push, pull and lift up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis.

• Employee may be exposed to hazardous substances including a variety of petroleum- based products, cleaning solvents, etc. on a regular basis.

• Employee may be exposed to sharp (cutting) tools on a regular basis.
