Position Overview

Atlas, a leading box manufacturing company, is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Clamp Truck Operator to join their team in Severn, MD. This role is responsible for operating specialized clamp trucks to move, load, and stage materials within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is a great opportunity for candidates looking for a long-term position with the potential to convert to full-time after 3 months.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate clamp trucks (specialized forklifts with hydraulic clamps) to safely transport materials throughout the facility
• Load and unload raw materials and finished goods from trailers and containers
• Handle large, heavy, and often cylindrical items (such as paper rolls) without pallets
• Ensure proper clamp pressure is used to prevent product damage
• Stage materials in designated areas and support production lines as needed
• Perform daily equipment inspections, including clamps and hydraulic systems
• Follow all safety protocols, including OSHA standards and lockout/tagout procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Requirements

• Previous experience operating a clamp truck or forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse setting
• Ability to work long shifts (10–12 hours) and overtime as needed
• Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment (hot in summer, cooler in winter)
• Strong attention to safety and detail
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift throughout the shift

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid forklift or clamp truck certification (highly preferred)
• Experience in paper, packaging, or manufacturing environments
