Responsibilities:

• Direct supervision of Production department personnel
• Monitor and control manufacturing processes to ensure product meets customer specifications
• Oversee plant operations during non-business hours, including Production, Maintenance, Shipping, and Laboratory areas
• Inspect process equipment to ensure proper operation and efficiency
• Implement process work instructions and complete required reporting
• Monitor and direct safe and proper process equipment operation
• Ensure compliance with all production and plant policies
• Manage off-spec material handling, reprocessing, and contamination prevention
• Direct production unit startups and shutdowns
• Supervise product loading and oil unloading activities during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Conduct safety meetings, enforce safety protocols, and correct unsafe conditions
• Monitor environmental conditions and mitigate emissions-related issues
• Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a safe and organized facility
• Support feedstock inventory management, employee training, and plant quality systems
• Conduct plant inspections to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency

Required Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience)
• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• 1-2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in production
• Experience in carbon black, chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments
• Strong understanding of process operations and equipment troubleshooting
• Ability to lead teams and manage production in a fast-paced environment
• Strong safety, environmental, and compliance awareness
• Proficiency with computer systems and reporting tools

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in carbon black or specialty materials manufacturing
• Background in continuous process manufacturing environments
• Experience managing plant operations during off-shifts or independently
• Familiarity with quality systems and process optimization
