Yellowstone Club’s Slope Maintenance department is currently seeking candidates for a Snowmaker Summer Assistant for the upcoming Summer season! Our Summer employment months are June - September.
This position is generally responsible for preparing and helping to maintain the snowmaking system.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each job function satisfactorily, which includes:
- Ensure safe operation of snowmaking equipment, pump facilities, snowmobiles, snow cats, light trucks, and side by sides
- Assist other departments as needed for greater member and guest satisfaction
- Housekeeping to maintain buildings and facilities at a professional level
- Fill out log sheets accurately and file
- Operate equipment within the guidelines of the manufacturer
- Must have a phone
- May work long hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends as required without regularly scheduled breaks
- Comply with all government and Yellowstone Club safety procedures
- Be punctual, dependable and pay attention to details
- Use good judgment
- Notify manager or supervisor of any problems
- Maintain effective communication to ensure effective inter-departmental relations to ensure a harmonious mountain operation for members, guests, and employees
- Be conscious and prudent with equipment operations
- Complete all tasks assigned consistently
- Must be a self starter and able to work productively without supervision
- Operate all Yellowstone Club motor vehicles, equipment and snowmobiles for safe and efficient Comply with all Yellowstone Club policies and procedures
- Perform all related duties as assigned

Normal Work Schedule: Flexible to accommodate four 10-hour work days with limited to no additional overtime unless prior approval is granted, 30 minutes for lunch unpaid
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge:
- The structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Resourcefulness, good judgment and self-confidence.
- Use of hand tools, shovels; and power tools
- How to deal with changing circumstances in a positive manner and function well in adverse conditions.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Reading and writing comprehension – understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents and communicating effectively in writing as appropriate.
- Oral and written communication skills – speaking, listening, reading or writing and understanding information and ideas presented; talking to others to convey information effectively.

- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work required
- Basic understanding of mechanical equipment and systems.
- Must have the ability to work as a team to ensure a positive ski experience for the member/guest.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Able to endure extended periods of equipment operation, i.e., snowmobiles and other off road vehicles, adverse weather should be expected and operating time may be 10 + hours a day.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs.
- Must have the ability to work in adverse conditions including, but limited to, outside weather conditions or near moving parts;
- The ability to have face-to-face discussions with individuals or teams.
- The ability to safely operate company vehicles and machinery such as snowmobiles and light trucks and side by sides in adverse conditions.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee may be required to:
- Wear protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, or hard hats;
- Be exposed to hazardous equipment and substances;
- Work exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable without hearing protection
