About This Position
The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for a Programs Leader in our Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department.
Responsibilities:
• Conducts recreational activities for community members of all ages
• Supervises fields/parks during programming events
• Open/Close parks when programming is scheduled
• Inspect complexes and fields prior to programming
• Observe officials, volunteers, participants and patrons during programming events
• Enforce rules and standard for each site or park during programming events
• Prepares facility for planned events, programs and rentals – includes cleaning
• Ensures facility is maintained and safe procedures are followed
• Advertises upcoming events, programs and rentals
• Monitors events, rentals and activities at each facility
• Orders and maintains equipment and supplies pertaining to programming and rentals
• Trains volunteers to conduct events and follow safety procedures
• Completes reports for injury, accidents and other incidents
• Performs general clerical duties as required, including preparing reports and correspondence, copying and filing documents, answering the telephone, attending meetings, etc.
• Performs related work as required.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
· Performs general administrative tasks as required, including preparing reports and correspondence, entering and retrieving computer data, filing records, and answering phones.
· Participates in required training and continuing education to obtain and maintain certifications and stay current on changes in codes and ordinances.
· Assists other officers and staff when workload, emergencies, or special assignments require.
· Stays current on departmental policies, procedures, and processes.
· Completes work accurately, safely, and efficiently; maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.
· Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
· Identifies and reports suggested improvements or areas of concern to the Supervisor.
· Ensures professionalism and excellent customer service in all interactions while representing the City of Greer.
· Demonstrates strong ethical conduct, integrity, and accountability with coworkers, customers, and the community.
· Supports a culture of results, communication, and professional collaboration within the department and across the organization.
· Represents the department at community events or meetings when requested by the Supervisor.
· Adheres to the Employee Handbook and all applicable policies and procedures.
· Maintains regular, reliable attendance.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Hours: Monday- Thursday 5:45pm-9:30pm, some weekends for special events/programming
Salary: Minimum $16.51 hourly; dependent on experience

Requirements:• High School Diploma/GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must obtain defensive driving training, basic first aid & CPR training, fire extinguisher training, AED training, and Bloodborne Pathogens Training certificates.
• Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license.
