This field-based scientific and market access role bridges health economics, outcomes research, and payer engagement to support the value and appropriate use of innovative neurological therapies. The position focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with managed care organizations, payers, and key medical influencers while translating complex clinical and HEOR evidence into actionable insights. It plays a critical role in shaping formulary and access decisions by supporting population health stakeholders with clear, balanced scientific communication. Operating at the intersection of medical affairs and market access, the role collaborates closely with internal HEOR, MSL, and account teams. The position also contributes to the development and execution of real-world evidence strategies and external research collaborations. This is a highly impactful, field-based opportunity for a scientific leader passionate about improving patient access to specialty treatments.
In this role, you will serve as a key field-based HEOR expert responsible for engaging with payer stakeholders and translating scientific evidence into meaningful value discussions that support access decisions. You will collaborate across medical, market access, and HEOR teams to ensure consistent, high-quality scientific communication and evidence dissemination.
- Build and maintain relationships with managed care organizations, payers, and key medical and pharmacy decision-makers
- Communicate HEOR, clinical, and outcomes data to support formulary, policy, and access decisions
- Partner with account managers, MSLs, and internal teams to align scientific messaging and address customer evidence needs
- Lead scientific discussions with population health stakeholders, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer organizations
- Support and facilitate HEOR collaborations, including real-world evidence generation, database analyses, and research partnerships
- Translate complex health outcomes and economic data into clear, balanced presentations for external stakeholders
- Contribute insights from the field to inform internal HEOR strategy and evidence planning
- Ensure all engagements comply with regulatory, legal, and industry standards
The ideal candidate is a scientifically trained professional with strong HEOR expertise, payer-facing experience, and the ability to communicate complex data in a clear and influential manner. You bring deep understanding of healthcare systems, strong relationship-building skills, and experience working in field medical or market access environments.
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree required (PharmD, MD, PhD); additional training in HEOR, epidemiology, or health economics preferred
- 5+ years of experience in HEOR, market access, managed care, or medical affairs roles
- Strong understanding of payer decision-making processes, including PBMs, health plans, and government payers
- Experience designing, interpreting, or communicating health outcomes and economic research
- Prior experience working with or within MSL teams or cross-functional medical affairs organizations
- Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex relationships and work within regulatory and compliance frameworks
- Willingness to travel approximately 60% of the time
- Competitive base salary ranging from $190,400 to $238,000 USD annually
