Looking for a part-time cook who is able to work as Direct Support Professional.
Qualifications
To work as a Cook, you need to have a strong interest in preparing quality meals for all Individuals. Reliability and consistency in meal preparation is essential to excelling as a Cook.
· High School Diploma or GED
· Valid Driver's License, good driving record and Auto Insurance
· Must be 18 years or older
· Pass criminal background, drug screen and physical
· Minimum 1 year of education in cooking preferred
· Minimum 1 year culinary/health care cooking/dietary meal prep experience
Job Details: include the following:
· Cooks food by following menu, standardized recipes, and production sheet, for all meals as scheduled.
· All food and beverages are to be prepared to proper consistencies.
· Taste and smell prepared food items to determine quality and palatability.
· Follow therapeutic diets as prescribed by physician.
· Responsible for following production sheets, along with dishing up/serving food to meet portion control and food analysis.
· In the absence of Dietary Manager, the cook will provide quality control of one or more workers.
· Helps train dietary workers. (IST training sheets)
· Notify Dietary Manager of food, supplies or equipment needs, report equipment breakdown and unsafe conditions. (Dietary Manager can place a work order in)
· Follows safe food handling procedures; monitor/document temperature of meal through preparation and service to ensure temperatures are maintained throughout meal service.
· Checks shipments and puts away stock; sees that food is stored properly; receives donations.
· Assists with inventory, stocking, and ordering as needed.
· Complete scheduled daily/weekly/monthly cleaning duties.
· The cook is responsible for opening, and closing the dietary department.
· Complete other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager.
· Attend mandatory meeting and in-service trainings.
