Sustainment Lead - Electronic Health Records

As a Sustainment Lead supporting Electronic Health Record modernization program, you will be trusted to work on a large-scale Federal program and lead sustainment operations. The Sustainment Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the ongoing operations of our live Modernized EHR system. This includes coordinating new software release management and upgrades, overseeing the service desk operations, managing escalations, and ensuring effective training for new hires in the use of the EHR system.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in EHR systems, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional service to clinicians and staff.
HOW A SUSTAINMENT LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
• Accountable for sustainment and enterprise operations at modernized sites.
• Provides day-to-day tactical operations after implementation and supports the contract including collaborating, coordinating, and oversight for the live sites utilizing the modernized EHR system.
• Manages the four areas of sustainment: release management, training content management, service desk management and continual service improvement, and risk management.
• Broad understanding of current system capabilities and new functionality in development.
• Maintains consistent communication with the Contractor Project Management Office team.
• Assesses organizational health of where deployment has occurred, reviews Key Performance Indicators and makes recommendations to assist the client to return to or exceed baseline performance based on the service level agreements, enterprise level integration, and utilization data.
• Work with DHA and sites to prioritize scope and issue escalations and adoption/standardization initiatives.
• Estimate cost, schedule, and training impacts of both custom and non-custom changes based on scope and issue escalations.
• Ensures Release Management process is followed (e.g., fixes, patches, and upgrades).
• Coordinates with the ongoing Training Content Management team to ensure new hire and retraining/remedial content/participation is updated and tracked.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Service Desk, ensuring timely and effective resolution of user issues and inquiries.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Clinical Informatics, and Training, to ensure the successful deployment of new system enhancements and updates.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clinicians, staff, and EHR vendors, to address operational issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure new hires receive comprehensive training in the use of the EHR system, collaborating with the Training team to develop and deliver training programs.
• Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging trends in EHR systems, sharing knowledge and insights with the team to drive innovation and process improvement.
• May supervise others.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
• Bachelor's degree
• 8+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with large scale Electronic Health Record (EHR) sustainment
• Experience with post go-live optimization
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the year, if needed
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
• This position is a remote role for candidates based in the VA/DC/MD region.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Degree in Healthcare Informatics
• Oracle Health (Cerner) certification
• 8+ years of experience in system administration and support
• ITIL certification
• Experience with ITSM
• PMP certification

The likely salary range for this position is $111,155 - $150,385. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
