Job Overview:

The Manager supports the efforts of the Quality Resource Services Department along with the Director and VP of Quality, Safety and Experience in transforming culture through the development and execution of programs, methods and initiatives to enhance and propel all quality, safety, experience and HRO initiatives. The Manager is responsible for working with leaders, physicians, clinical and nonclinical staff on managing, classifying, improving and implementing education and continuous improvement initiatives that deliver safe, high-quality care and the best possible patient experience..

Qualification

  • Bachelor s Degree in Business, Quality, Engineering or other healthcare related field
  • MBA highly desirable, or equivalent industry training and experience,
  • 4+ Years performance improvement project experience
  • Experience with healthcare improvement initiatives
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Exceptional skills with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong proven leadership, project management, and execution skills
  • Superb communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated change agent, self-starter and team player
  • Able to work independently and handle multiple priorities
  • Capable of leading the charge and thinking out of the box,
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo while able to work diplomatically to
  • keep stakeholders engaged
  • Able to persuade others and gain commitment
  • Understands context of assignments and tasks and able to be flexible and adaptable to changing roles & priorities

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as a liaison between the RWJBarnabas Health System, NBIMC and the employees, patients, family members, caregivers and visitors that we serve. Assists the Director in supporting the coordination efforts for our quality programs, high reliability journey, safety behaviors, and patient experience. Develop and oversee training and education related to HRO tools & behaviors, Patient Experience key concepts, and the utilization of patient experience and incident reporting platforms.
  • Oversee and manage various quality, safety, and patient experience systems currently in place and utilized on a daily basis such as: Verge, Press Ganey, MARTTI, Huron etc. Supports Director in developing and implementing a strategic plan for quality, patient safety, and patient experience initiatives that coincides with the RWJBarnabas mission and vision. Oversee the incident reporting system and ensure events are completed in the appropriate turnaround time as needed asper our policies and procedures. Work in synergy with all other performance improvement programs and organizational goals, in order to support continuous improvement in all service initiatives.
  • Supports the Director in organizing data and activities related to Leapfrog and USNWR submissions. Proactively assesses quality and safety performance as it relates to publicly reported metrics and CMS stars (e.g., PSIs, HACs). Analyze all data available to us such as HCAHPS, Verge Data, Comment reports, etc. to make the necessary changes in the evolving healthcare industry and adjust to the trends.
  • Facilitate cause analyses, ACAs/RCAs and proactive risk assessments in collaboration with key stakeholders. Plans and conducts meetings with department leaders to review trends and strategies to improve quality, safety, and the patient and employee experience. Serves as a lead for the safety coach program and coaches, Mentors and develops new coaches as they are recruited. Meets monthly with safety coaches to strategize and implement programs.
  • Seeks feedback and recommendations from others to improve quality, processes and services. Strategize with personnel at all levels to develop and coordinate quality, patient safety, and experience programs.
