Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Regional Facilities Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of large commercial and government facilities in DC, MD, and VA. This role requires a licensed professional with strong technical expertise in building systems and proven hands-on experience managing HVAC, electrical, and plumbing teams. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of facility operations, compliance, and preventive maintenance in mission-critical or large-scale environments.

This position is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient building operations while leading multidisciplinary facilities staff and coordinating daily activities across a portfolio of facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee daily operations and maintenance of large commercial and government facilities.
  • Manage budgets, track expenses, and support forecasting for facility operations.
  • Lead and supervise a team of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing technicians.
  • Ensure proper operation of building systems including:
    • HVAC and mechanical systems
    • Electrical distribution systems
    • Plumbing and life safety systems
    • Building automation systems (BAS)
  • Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Monitor work performance, scheduling, and staffing levels to ensure service requirements are met.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local codes and safety regulations.
  • Serve as the technical authority for troubleshooting and resolving complex facility issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs.
  • Prepare reports on system performance, work orders, and operational metrics.
  • Support emergency response and after-hours call rotation as required.
  • Maintain a strong customer service focus while supporting mission-critical operations.

Full-time Monday-Friday

Salaried up to $120,000.00/year



Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active DC 1st/DC 3rd or Maryland 1st Class Engineer License.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in facilities management or building operations within large commercial or government facilities, with at least 8 years in a project management/supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with:
    • HVAC systems
    • Electrical systems
    • Plumbing systems
  • Proven experience supervising and managing technical staff.
  • Strong knowledge of building operations, maintenance best practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency situations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting government, data center, hospital, or mission-critical facilities.
  • Additional certifications (HVAC, electrical, or safety-related certifications) a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk facilities, climb ladders, and access mechanical rooms and rooftops.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally.
