The Opportunity

Det-Tronics is looking for an experienced, process driven, results oriented, high performing Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer to champion Supplier Quality in our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Supply Chain team to develop robust supply base.
  • Lead regularly scheduled Supplier Quality meetings, supplier issue resolution, and drive continuous improvement
  • Partner with Supply Chain for Supplier sourcing, qualification, selection, and development
  • Work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations on all stages of New Product Development, ensuring quality is designed into the parts and the processes
  • Oversee new part validation process, including FAI, setting up incoming inspection requirements, and verification of Cpk data
  • Develop Supplier Scorecard, track KPIs, and work with suppliers on action plans to improve performance
  • Lead technical reviews of new components and existing components with Supplier and Engineering
  • Audit and assess Suppliers’ Processes on regular basis, which includes some (~10-15%) travel
  • Act as quality leader in organization
  • Participate as a member of the Material Review Board
  • Support outside certification audits (e.g., ISO 9001:2015)
  • Advocate for process focused approach for all functions
  • Enable culture change from a reactive approach to Quality to a proactive approach to Quality
  • Help drive reduction in Det-Tronics Cost of Poor Quality
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/ Industrial Engineering, or related Technical Field
  • 5+ years or more experience in Manufacturing Industries as Supplier Quality Engineer
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Lead others using project planning skills and documentation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform under stress and meet project timelines
  • Knowledge/ Familiarity with AIAG Standard
  • Process Audit Knowledge
  • Proficiency in Minitab, MS Excel & Power BI
  • Certified Lean six sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
  • Project Management Skill
  • Experience with MRP System (JDE or SAP)
  • Statistical Analysis (Capability Analysis)
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T
  • Non-Conforming Materials Control & Disposition (MRB)
  • Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR)
  • Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA)
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM) Review
  • Working with Purchasing/ Sourcing Team to establish and maintain a Supplier Quality Scorecard
  • Supplier DPPM and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) Calculation
  • MSA (Measurement System Analysis)
  • Experience with PPAP, APQP, Control Plan, FMEA
