About This Position

Allient Inc., is currently seeking a Assistant Production Supervisor Scheduler to join our team in Oshkosh, Wisconsin!


The Assistant Production Scheduler will perform diversified administrative and clerical duties primarily related to the status of materials, including inputting data into the materials requirements planning (MRP) system, processing approved requisitions and purchase orders, and auditing vendor invoices against receivers, under the general supervision of the Purchasing Manager. Responsibilities include entering data into the system; pickup, distribution, duplicating, and collating of shop orders, sample orders, and Production/Inventory Control data sheets; reviewing and confirming internal sales orders (ISOs); and entering, scheduling, and expediting shop orders. Responsibilities:

  • Compare production order inquiry negative material report to the MRP system. Advise appropriate Buyer if buy-item requirements fall within established lead times. Issue make order requests if make-item requirements fall within established lead times. Work from exception report minimum quantities and reorder points to issue make order requests and generate insulation purchase orders, referring questionable situations to appropriate Buyer. Investigate non-stock reports and expedite with vendors as required.

  • Review late deliveries. Prepare interplant packing lists and upon delivery, review, attach appropriate paperwork and input price information into MRP system. Input completed purchase order and make order and request for quotation pricing and cost information. Work from the Late Shipping Schedule to identify delays, and/or expected delays in customer deliveries and advise Sales and Manufacturing management as appropriate.

  • Copy production orders and related material. Furnish and obtain information as required. Detect inaccurate data, take corrective action and report to Supervisor. Fill in for Purchasing and Scheduler.

  • Work from approved requisitions for non-stocked items to contact MRO suppliers to confirm price, establish optimal delivery and generate purchase orders. Determine best source and issue purchase orders for a variety of office supplies, including copier paper, desk supplies, etc. Determine unit cost and enter into inventory cost file of the database.

  • Input, update and print daily purchase orders and changes, component quantity price file and make orders, purchase orders and receiving registers. Report to superiors and others concerned on receiver discrepancies, and investigate as required.

  • Perform a variety of office clerical procedures as assigned. Operate data entry display terminal and printer to print daily purchase orders and various registers. Type, post, compile, summarize, maintain and file a variety of purchasing records, reports, documents and correspondence in an organized manner and on a daily, weekly and monthly basis in accordance with established practices as directed.

  • Perform other similar or related duties as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in supply chain management, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, scheduling, logistics, or administrative support within a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting production planning or scheduling.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production scheduling principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Ability to analyze data and solve routine problems
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
