Job Description

Retail Operations Manager

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Retail Operations Manager in the United States.

This role is a pivotal leadership position responsible for building and scaling a new retail presence from the ground up in the U.S. market. You will oversee the full lifecycle of store development—from site sourcing and lease negotiation to store opening and operational readiness. Acting as the bridge between strategy and execution, you will ensure each location is delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with brand standards. You will also lead Store Managers and shape the operational frameworks that enable consistent, high-quality customer experiences. This is a highly cross-functional role, working closely with real estate partners, construction teams, finance, and retail leadership. It’s an opportunity to define how a modern retail network is built and run, rather than simply manage an existing one. The environment is fast-moving, collaborative, and deeply focused on purposeful growth.

Accountabilities

You will be responsible for building and scaling retail operations across new and existing U.S. locations, ensuring seamless execution from site selection through store opening and ongoing performance management.

  • Lead retail expansion efforts by identifying, evaluating, and securing store locations, including site selection, lease negotiation, and landlord relationship management.
  • Oversee end-to-end store development, coordinating construction, fit-outs, timelines, budgets, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful openings.
  • Manage and develop Store Managers, setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and driving accountability for operational and customer experience performance.
  • Build and refine scalable operational processes and playbooks to support repeatable store launches and consistent execution across locations.
  • Partner with retail, finance, and leadership teams to evaluate business cases, support strategic decisions, and ensure commercial viability of new stores.
  • Influence retail technology decisions and ensure systems are effectively implemented to support in-store teams and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor retail market trends and competitive activity to inform expansion strategy and continuous improvement.
Requirements

This role requires a strong blend of retail operations leadership, commercial real estate expertise, and hands-on execution capability in multi-site environments.

  • 5–7+ years of experience in retail operations, multi-site management, hospitality, or franchise environments, with direct exposure to opening new locations.
  • Proven experience managing commercial real estate processes, including site sourcing, lease negotiations, and landlord partnerships.
  • Strong track record of leading store managers or frontline teams, with the ability to coach, set expectations, and drive performance accountability.
  • Experience managing store build-outs or fit-out projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess opportunities, challenge assumptions, and support executive decision-making.
  • Ability to build structured, repeatable operational processes and document them for scale and consistency.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with a builder mindset and a hands-on approach.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across both operational and executive audiences.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package with a salary range of $140,000–$160,000 USD
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Generous paid time off, including vacation, sick/personal days, and U.S. holidays
  • Paid parental leave
  • Product allowance and employee discount benefits for friends and family
  • Fully remote work model with required U.S. city eligibility and periodic travel
  • Regular travel opportunities for site visits, store openings, and market exploration
  • Collaborative, values-driven culture with strong cross-functional exposure
