This role sits at the intersection of enterprise architecture, cloud engineering, and infrastructure operations, supporting a large-scale healthcare technology environment. The position focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing secure and scalable systems that integrate cloud platforms, on-premises infrastructure, data services, and AI capabilities. It requires a strong ability to translate business, clinical, and research needs into robust technical architectures aligned with security, compliance, and operational standards. The engineer plays a key role in maintaining system reliability, improving performance, and ensuring seamless integration across complex environments. Working closely with engineering, security, and vendor teams, this role drives continuous improvement and supports mission-critical healthcare operations. It also involves mentoring peers, resolving escalated technical issues, and contributing to long-term infrastructure strategy.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute complex system installations, upgrades, and change management activities across enterprise environments
- Design, configure, and support virtualization, server, storage, and ancillary integration solutions across distributed infrastructure
- Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability, ensuring optimal operation of clinical and business applications
- Develop technical solutions based on business requirements, including system specifications, architecture recommendations, and implementation plans
- Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, application, and integration issues, performing root cause analysis and trend identification
- Serve as a technical escalation point for internal teams and external vendors, coordinating resolution of critical issues
- Support automation, testing, migration, and proof-of-concept initiatives across infrastructure and cloud environments
- Contribute to documentation, training, and process improvement efforts to strengthen operational standards and governance
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Microsoft platforms, network communications, and IT infrastructure or systems engineering
- Strong experience with server administration, virtualization technologies, storage systems, backup tools, and directory services
- Solid understanding of system architecture, application-to-infrastructure dependencies, and enterprise integration environments
- Experience working with monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning in large-scale environments
- Ability to translate business and user requirements into technical specifications and scalable system designs
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills in complex technical environments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks
- Knowledge of clinical or healthcare IT systems and vendor-managed environments is a strong plus
- Ability to participate in on-call rotation and provide off-hours support when required
- Must be eligible to work in approved US states; no relocation or visa sponsorship available
- Competitive base salary range: $47.50 – $71.25 per hour
