The City of Minot is accepting applications for the entry level position of Airport Operations & Maintenance Technician I at the Minot International Airport, with an application deadline of Tuesday, May 12th 2026.

Nature of Work
This is entry-level technical work in maintaining airport facilities grounds, runways, taxiways, and aircraft parking ramps and associated equipment. The personnel in this position must be available to work a flexible schedule that covers 7 days a week, 24 hours a day to include holidays. The work is performed under continuing supervision of the Airport Operations Foreman. Please read the attached job description for complete details.
Education, Experience, Other Requirements
- Graduation from high school and experience in general maintenance work, construction, medium or heavy equipment operation, medium or heavy equipment operation; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Preferred education with a Bachelor’s degree in Airport or Aviation Management. Preferred experience having worked at a commercial service or military airport.
- Possession of a valid North Dakota Class B driver's license, with air brake endorsement or the ability to obtain one within one year of employment.
- Pass a fingerprint-based background check and maintain federally mandated security clearance required to work at an airport.
Compensation
- Salary is established under the 2026 City of Minot Annual Pay Plan, Grade 52:
which is an earning potential of $45,799 – $67,990 annually ($22.02 – $32.69/hour) - This is a full-time, FLSA non-exempt position eligible for overtime

Veterans’ Preference
Veteran’s preference: Applicants who are residents of North Dakota and eligible to claim veteran’s preference must include Form DD214.
