We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Senior Geologist 2 to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our Greenville, SC office.
In this role, the selected candidate will serve as a senior technical resource for geologic site characterization and multidisciplinary project teams. The Senior Geologist will lead the development and implementation of field investigation programs, evaluate and interpret subsurface and geologic data, and develop conceptual site models that support project goals and client objectives. This role includes mentoring and supporting junior staff, contributing to technical scopes and proposals, and providing high-quality technical leadership on complex projects.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will:
- Lead the execution of project work through individual contribution and delegation to lower-level staff.
- Understand and develop technical scopes of work and proposals in your specialty area and make connections between your and other aspects of the project to achieve client goals. Have an ability to recognize conditions that require modifications to accommodate client or regulatory-specific requirements.
- Demonstrate and apply knowledge of codes, regulations and professional standard of practice to assigned project work.
- Coach, mentor, and support staff to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure high-quality execution of project tasks, technical reports, and deliverables.
- Use developing skills to be visible in your specialty area by giving internal and external technical presentations and attending external networking events.
- Lead the development of geologic site characterization plans and oversee the implementation of field investigation programs.
- Lead project teams with the technical evaluation and interpretation of site characterization and geologic data, develop conceptual site models, and work with other multidisciplinary team members to assess the impact to project goals.
- Plan all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.
- Demonstrate the company’s foundational safety behaviors.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field.
- 8+ years of related geologic site investigation experience.
- Professional registration or certification, as applicable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including verbally communicating and presenting project information.
- Desire to master skills in your discipline to become visible in the industry.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office 365 products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to work on interdisciplinary project teams.
- Familiarity with industry-specific geologic modeling software.
Preferred Skills:
- Master’s degree in Geology or related field.
- Expertise with industry-specific geologic modeling software.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates.
