Position Summary: Logan Property Management is seeking a Compliance Specialist to support operations at Las Casas de Madera, a 75-unit affordable housing cooperative in Salinas, CA. Reporting to the Community Manager, this role plays a critical part in affordable housing compliance, resident file management, leasing support, and resident relations. The Community Assistant works collaboratively with on-site staff to ensure the property operates in full compliance with HUD and other applicable affordable housing regulations, while maintaining high standards of resident service and community operations.

Responsibilities: - Support compliance with all applicable affordable housing programs, including HUD and Fair Housing requirements.
- Assist with move-in certifications, annual and interim recertifications, income and rent verifications, and required documentation.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready resident files and compliance records.
- Support leasing activities, including property tours, applicant qualification, leasing paperwork, renewals, and waitlist management in accordance with program guidelines.
- Communicate compliance requirements, recertification timelines, and documentation needs to residents professionally and clearly.
- Coordinate move-in and move-out processes while ensuring all compliance steps are completed timely.
- Assist with preparation of compliance, occupancy, and operational reports for management and regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff on unit readiness, inspections, and work orders to support health, safety, and compliance standards.
- Support rent collection, basic financial tracking, and administrative tasks under the direction of the Community Manager.
- Provide operational and administrative support to the Community Manager and participate in team meetings and community initiatives.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in property management, with a focus on affordable housing strongly preferred.
- Must have experience with HUD, Project-Based Section 8, and Fair Housing regulations.
- Proficiency in a second language, particularly Spanish, is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Valid drivers license, clean DMV record, reliable transportation, and authorization to work in the U.S.
- Must pass background and drug screenings.
- Entry-level certification such as COS (Certified Occupancy Specialist) or ARM (Accredited Residential Manager).
