Kitchen Assistant - Summer Camp at Easter Seals Florida Inc – Sorrento, Florida

Pay rate is $15.00 per hour

Part time position working approximately 10 hours per week

Easterseals Florida is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual to fill our Kitchen Assistant position at Camp Challenge in Sorrento, Florida to make a difference in the lives of adults and children with disabilities and special needs. As the kitchen assistant, you will assist with food ordering, stock, service, meal preparation, and cleanup.

A snapshot of what you will be doing:

• Assist with the preparation of facilities, kitchen, dining hall and related food service areas prior to the start of camp, events and/or rental groups (as well as cleanup and closure at the conclusion of camp, events, and/or rental groups)
• Assist with unpacking food orders and inventory
• Assist with preparation and serving of meals and snacks, including special diets, in a safe and sanitary manner, following all food safety requirements
• Provide laundry services of kitchen and dining hall items, such as aprons, dish cloths, tablecloths, cleaning cloths and mop heads
• Assist cooks as needed
• Clean kitchen, dining area and furniture, dish room and lavatory after meals
• Clean and store dishes, pots, pans, food preparation equipment and coffee machine

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training
• Minimum age of 17 years old
• Great communication skills
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Ability to work as a member of a team
