Merchants Fleet is seeking an Associate, Human Resources to join our People & Talent team and play a critical role in supporting employees and candidates across the full employee lifecycle.

In this role, youll provide high-quality operational and administrative HR support, ensure compliance and data integrity, and help deliver a seamless onboarding and employee experience.

What Youll Do

Accurately enter and maintain employee and new hire data in HRIS systems to ensure compliance and data integrity

Track and coordinate updates or creation of job descriptions based on employee changes

Process employee documentation for electronic signatures and secure recordkeeping

Respond confidentially and promptly to employment verifications, unemployment inquiries, and HR-related requests

Support onboarding by collecting I-9 documentation and assisting new hires with questions

Learn and support onboarding technologies and automation initiatives

Assist Talent Acquisition with interview scheduling and travel coordination to deliver a best-in-class candidate experience

Manage background check processes, partnering with vendors and new hires to ensure timely completion

Conduct regular audits of the HR intranet to ensure resources are current and accurate

Maintain job postings using talent management systems and third-party job boards

Assign and track required compliance training at hire and annually

Assist with documentation related to employee leaves of absence

Serve as backup for distributing offer letters in partnership with the People & Talent team

Respond to general HR inquiries and support special projects and employee engagement initiatives

Perform additional duties as assigned

Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

Education & Experience

Associates or Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Foundational HR knowledge required

2+ years of HR operations, coordination, or HR support experience

SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification preferred

Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems (e.g., Dayforce, Greenhouse) preferred
