About This Position

Job Summary:

The Senior Vice President of Sales (SVP of Sales) is a senior executive leader responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and strategic expansion across designated key accounts and professional sales channels for Malibu Wellness, with a primary focus on the Malibu C brand. This role champions disciplined execution, transparent performance standards, and a culture of accountability that supports long-term, healthy growth.

Reporting directly to the CSMO, the SVP provides strategic sales leadership, oversees key account performance, strengthens organizational capacity, and directly supervises the Vice President of Sales. This leader ensures revenue targets, growth expectations, and margin objectives achieved through data-driven decision-making, collaborative partnership, and operational excellence - always with integrity and professionalism.

While this role does not oversee direct-to-consumer web sales, international distribution operations, Amazon, retail accounts, or contract manufacturing (managed by the CSMO), the SVP maintains a strong understanding of the company’s omni-channel strategy. In close partnership with the CSMO and cross-functional leaders this role ensures cohesive go-to-market strategies, pricing discipline, and unified brand execution.

The SVP is accountable for achieving revenue growth, protecting margin performance, and scaling sales organization effectiveness through strategic channel expansion. This work supports Malibu Wellness’s mission, reinforces trust with customers, and drive continuous improvement across the company.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the daily work of the Vice President of Sales.
  • Continually develop leadership skills for self & direct reports.
  • Supervise staff including managing time off requests, timecards and backing up duties of team members as necessary.
  • Conduct annual employee evaluations.
  • Conducts meetings with employees as needed for any concerns or issues to be resolved.
  • Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute scalable professional sales strategies aligned with the company’s growth from $30MM+ toward $50MM+.
  • Exceed annual revenue budgets while achieving incremental growth beyond plan.
  • Translate enterprise strategy into actionable sales objectives, KPIs, and execution plans.
  • Ensures pricing discipline and anti-diversion strategies across channels.
  • Maintain executive ownership of all assigned key accounts.
  • Develop and manage structured account plans supporting growth and margin protection.
  • Lead senior-level negotiations and long-term agreements.
  • Directly supervise and mentor the Vice President of Sales.
  • Establish performance metrics and accountability structures.
  • Build and retain a high-performing sales organization.
  • Partner with Forecasting to improve demand accuracy and service levels.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to support campaigns and brand execution.
  • Work with Education to ensure exceptional professional training and customer care.
  • Own sales expense budgets and ensure ROI-driven spend.
  • Improve forecasting accuracy and revenue predictability.
  • Maintain strong understanding of omni-channel strategy.
  • Partner with the CSMO to ensure pricing integrity and channel cohesion.
  • Initiate store programs to increase in-salon performance.
  • Develop Sales Consultant programs to expand brand penetration.
  • Serve as an executive representative of Malibu Wellness.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and strategic insight.
  • Oversight of CRM strategy, pipeline visibility, reporting standards, and sales analytics.
  • Ensures data driven decision making across the sales organization
  • Represents Malibu Wellness in executive level industry relationships and strategic meetings.
  • Provides market intelligence and customer feedback to Product Development and Marketing to guide innovation priorities.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex business strategies to executive leadership and Board-level audiences.
  • Strong strategic thinking with demonstrated ability to translate vision into executable frameworks.
  • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Expertise in utilizing sales data, forecasting, and performance analytics to make informed decisions and optimize sales efforts.
  • Enterprise forecasting and demand planning alignment experience.
  • Ability to effectively drive sales, negotiate contracts, and close deals while maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and sales tools to manage pipelines, track performance, and optimize sales operations.
  • In-depth understanding of the wellness industry, market trends, and customer needs to identify opportunities and drive strategic sales initiatives.
  • A strong focus on understanding customer needs, offering solutions, and ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the sales process.
  • Ability to take initiative, identify new opportunities, and drive business development without waiting for direction.
  • Experience leading organizational change and transformation initiatives.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.

Education and Experience:

  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in sales achieving sales targets and managing key accounts, preferably in the wellness industry.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and business partners to ensure loyalty and long-term success.

Physical Requirements:

  • Repetitive hand and finger movements while operating a computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to hear and understand verbal communication.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Varies based on travel. Estimated travel for this role ranges between 20% - 40%.
