Why is the work you do in this position important to Missouri?

This entry to an advanced-level technical position serves Missourians by helping ensure that insurance company operations are in compliance with state law. • Obtain, review and evaluate data received from insurance companies, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data and identifying trends and indicators of errors.
  • Complete work timely and accurately, and in accordance with the NAIC Market Regulation Handbook.
  • Research Missouri statutes and regulations, case law, and precedent, and compare insurer behavior for compliance with Missouri insurance laws.
  • Prepare a closing memo and findings of fact, if applicable, along with appropriate legal citations at the end of an investigation. Prepare criticisms and assist in writing the exam report at the end of examinations, as required.
  • Make recommendations and referrals for examination, voluntary settlement, or other action based on findings.
  • Ensure that formal written work is properly composed and formatted.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and on point with insurers, Department colleagues, and other stakeholders.
